Carl
Unterkofler began his contracting career in
1980 as C.J. Unterkofler Home Improvement Contractor
which focused on interior renovations.
When his customers began to shift their focus to the
outside of the house he followed their lead. His company
branched out to meet the demands of custom decks and
porches for area home builders in northern Virginia.
To reflect this new trend, the business incorporated in
1987 and became Sun-Tastic Decks.
As he built one solid dream after another, he found he
was also building a business that would stand the test
of time. More than 25 years later, as his customers are
envisioning in-home theaters and custom bars in their
basements, he is still their "go to guy".
Charlene Unterkofler is Sun-Tastic's
Co-owner and Business Manager. This husband-and-wife
team credits old-fashioned communication skills for
their success. They listen to the customer and they
listen to each other. Production Manager, Craig
Murschell, has a 30 year background in custom
home improvements. They have a common goal: "Make
the customer happy!"
